working with live performance, video, text
and objects, GILLIANWYLDE'S practice is an investigation of
liveness vs mediation, desire and duration. her work references
and unsettles moments appropriated from popular culture, the
everyday, and hi-fi/low-fi aesthetics.
it'sarealdeadringerforlove is an on-going work
exploring human and animal behaviour, alienation and desire.
the work has developed from an encounter with a man barking
on a london tube last year.
Gillian created an uncanny world including
a video of rippling fur, a mashed potato mountain, model railway
set and the sounds of howling wolves which was viewed and heard
through peep-holes in the potato-like growth filling the cab.
